OpenStack provides a CMS-Open Web mashup/service based on the collaborative “in-process” editing of Office documents. The service directly connects the 2003-2007 MSOffice collaborative document interface to the Open Web using a browser plug-in based on webkit/chromium. Although documents are viewed in visual WebKit HTML+, all collaborative editing actually takes place in the native binary format. This protects important round trip and business process aspects of the Office document, while also enabling advanced Open Web services. Collaborative documents are iPhone and Android ready.
