Erika Hall
Co-Founder, Director of Strategy, Mule Design

Website

Erika Hall is the Co-Founder and Director of Strategy at Mule Design Studio in San Francisco where she leads the research and information design practices. She is a natural problem solver with over 15 years of experience in interactive strategy, technology, and design, working in a wide variety of industries. Clients include Mint.com, POV – the PBS documentary series, Six Apart, ProPublica, and All Things D.

Her recent consulting work has reflected a focus on emerging publishing models and the changing nature of editorial authority.

Erika fights on behalf of clear language, rigorous thinking, and a holistic, goal-driven approach to design—as well as for the hyphen in e-mail, the Oxford comma, and fairness.

She speaks and writes frequently about the critical role of language in the user experience. In 2008, she presented Copy as Interface at Web 2.0 Expo San Francisco. Erika is also one of the creators of BattleDecks, an extemporaneous presentation competition held at SXSW and elsewhere.

Erika received her BA in Philosophy from Dartmouth College.
