Current TV

Ofer Shaked is Chief Architect for Current TV, heading up Current’s new online product offerings. Prior to joining Current TV, Shaked headed up the Social Search business for Yahoo! and started Yahoo! Answers, taking it from concept to a global service currently used by nearly 100 million users in 20 countries – one of the largest and fastest growing social systems online.

Shaked joined Yahoo! through the acquisition of FareChase – a company he co-founded and where he served as Chief Technical Officer. FareChase is now the engine behind Yahoo! Travel Search. Before starting FareChase, Shaked managed a technology group for Tecnomatix Technologies (now part of Siemens), an innovator developing software for manufacturing planning, employing 3D human and robotic simulation. Shaked managed mission critical, international development projects with partners like BMW, PTC and others. Shaked holds a B.Sc. Cum Laude in Mathematics and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University.
