Communities, collaboration, awareness, simple and open access to data, multiclient support, massive scale, and continuous evolution… We expect these from the Web, why shouldn’t we expect them from our software development tools? We should. Learn about the IBM Rational Jazz Platform, inspired by and built on the Web.
Kathy Mandelstein has over 20 years of professional experience in the areas of web development, marketing, sales, advertising, management, and corporate communications. She is currently responsible for Worldwide Marketing Programs for the IBM Rational Brand which includes web, marketing campaigns, event planning, advertising and working hand-in-hand with the sales teams and channel teams to deliver results for the Rational brand.
Recently, Kathy led the public launch of the IBM Jazz Technology Platform which leverages many of the Web 2.0 capabilities that will enable development teams to collaborate and be more productive in a truly open way. Jazz.net is the first open commercial development project from IBM. Mandelstein also leads the worldwide IBM marketing program, Effective Software Delivery, focused on technical professionals and their up-line IT management.
Over the past six years, Kathy led ibm.com/developerWorks and ibm.com/alphaWorks, as well as marketing programs to developers for all of IBM. Her past history includes leading various Web development and marketing teams in IBM Software Group.
Before joining IBM in 1997, Kathy managed one of the earliest successful retail Web sites, www.jcpenney.com. She holds a B.S. in Advertising with a Minor in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin and a Global MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
