Michele Anderson is a Managing Director at ACTIVATE, a strategy and technology consulting firm that focuses on growth for media, entertainment, internet and technology companies.
Previously, Michele was a Principal in Booz Allen & Hamilton’s Media, Entertainment & Information Practice. Over her ten years at BA&H, she served Fortune 500 as well as large privately held media and entertainment companies. Her focus was on addressing these businesses’ most important strategic decisions. In addition, Michele helped senior executives develop and implement strategies in marketing and distribution, brand strategy, advertising sales, licensing, organization design, internet and technology.
Her clients spanned cable television, filmed entertainment, publishing, news, site-¬‐based entertainment, internet and licensing businesses across the US, Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa.
Michele moved from Booz Allen into an executive role at iVillage, where she ran the international businesses and launched the company’s operations in Europe. She also led corporate strategy and development.
After iVillage, Michele became a successful entrepreneur; she built and sold a specialist wine import and e-commerce business. She also spent a number of years as the Managing Director of the North American business for Australian Vintage, Australia’s second largest publicly-traded wine company.
Michele received a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law from the University of New South Wales and an MBA from the Wharton School.
Her passions are wine and windsurfing. She represented Australia with Top 5 international performances over a number of years, received a University Blue for Sailing and won the Silver Medal at the 1988 World Student Games. An Australian citizen and U.S. permanent resident, Michele lives in New York City.
