A pioneer in digital media and a member of the Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) global executive team, Sean Finnegan focuses on driving the worldwide agency network’s digital strategy and practice. In addition, he is responsible for forging the digital communications product, proprietary tools and technology applications, inclusive of social, search and mobile media for SMG. Further, he fosters leadership within those arenas by aligning global and regional goals, and by leveraging relationships with media partners around the world to the advantage of the entire network.
Finnegan is committed to mentorship and as such, in the past year, has Keynoted several global conferences such as Sydney’s Ad:Tech, Cairo’s Nielsen 360, India’s GoaFest, The Cannes Advertising Festival, The Wall Street Journal “Digital Download” and the AAF National Conference. Finnegan was named an AAF Advertising Hall of Achievement inductee, an Advertising Age Media Maven, a Media All-Star for Mediaweek Magazine, a MediaPost All Star, one of min magazine´s 21 Most Intriguing People, an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, an inter national ist Magazine Agency Innovator and OnMedia’s Madison Avenue “IT” List.
Sean is involved in many online advertising industry groups and associations, such as Google´s Agency Advisory Council, the Facebook Customer Council, the 4As Digital CEO Board as well as a Board member of the popular South Asian Entertainment company, Desi Hits! To give back to society, Sean serves on the Fund Raising Committee of Chicago’s Off The Street Club and is a proud co-founder and board member of the TD Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping innocent families and children caught in wartime with their most basic living needs, including transportation and medical care.
Sean and his wife Melody and their six children (all home-schooled with one on the way!) reside downtown Chicago where they are active in local community sports, charities and their extended family.
