Alexis Roos is an Principal Field Technologist in the OEM Software Sales organization where he is focusing on Services Oriented Architectures, Web 2.0 and beyond and Sun middleware (including GlassFish, Open ESB, SailFin and Java CAPS) for OEMs Worldwide. Alexis has been at Sun microsystems for over nine years. During that time he has worked in delivery and pre-sales capacity; first as a Java Architect in the DC Sun Java Center where he focussed on large J2EE architectures; later in the Communications Industry group where he supported Service Providers and Network Equipment Providers Worldwide primarily around Services Delivery Platforms, IP Multimedia Subsystem and OSS/BSS integration. Alexis leads several groups at Sun including the Global Sales and Services Application Platform Ambassador program and the OEM SW Middleware community.
Prior to Sun, Alexis worked for two years at Bell Atlantic Network Services on the architecture, design and implementation of its new generation J2EE based customer care suite. Alexis also spent three years in software consulting for Axime (now known as Atos) then Steria.
Alexis owns a Master degree and Post-graduate degree of Computer Sciences with emphasis in cognitive sciences. Alexis is Sun Certified Java Programmer 1.2 and Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for Java 2. Alexis public presentations include Java One 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004, IMA 2005 and several Sun led conferences (CEC, SunNetwork, Americas Catalysts) over the last few years.
