With the introduction of Web 2.0 several years ago, the focus on how to increase customer value, satisfaction and service through the web and through products is constantly changing. As customers and communities look to companies to create more usable and friendly products and websites, companies must adapt to this changing environment, essentially shifting the way business units and engineering groups deliver products to the customer.

When Microsoft introduced its Web Platform last year, the focus was on simplicity, interoperability, and integration. Over the past 12 months, Microsoft has delivered on customer promise by not only delivering a new website and resources for developers & users (www.microsoft.com/web) but also by re-introducing and engineering core products in the Microsoft Web Platform to become more user-friendly as well as easier to download, install, and configure – and run alongside PHP applications.

This session will not be covering The Microsoft Platform itself, but more the lessons learned and structural changes that happened within Microsoft and with the community, and ideas and best practices you can use in your own business to deliver on success for customers that demand more. This session includes core topics such as changes that were made to products to ensure simplification and ease of use, the introduction of PHP into the platform strategy, and the creation of an application gallery for customers, developers, and end users to be able to more easily and readily use common applications that previously weren’t available. In addition, the focus on a community-friendly website and product delivery will be discussed.
