It’s becoming general knowledge that being active in a social network can help you create richer content, garner broader feedback, help people not only find your work but discover you and eventually extend your social reach and influence. But how do these actions help enterprises be more productive and innovative? In this session we’ll reveal how user data and feedback have changed enterprise software including SharePoint 2010. Some factors that have helped influence the social features of SharePoint were based on common trends occurring within organizations. These include: · More receptiveness to open transparency for employees to colleagues’ activities and projects · Influence of user provided feedback to aggregate high quality content · Availability of multiple SME resources for information sharing · Encouragement of employees to express their thoughts, opinions, and suggestions for innovation Find out what social computing capabilities are available with SharePoint 2010, what customers have learned from their deployments, and how your end-user can benefit from these social features while doing their day-to-day tasks.
Alina Fu is the Product Manager for Social Computing on the SharePoint product team. Alina’s primary responsibility is to develop the strategy and execution plan around social computing for the different SharePoint product cycles. Her efforts are currently focused primarily on the Information Workers (i.e. end users) and TDM/BDM audiences. She also develops the core content for social computing, works extensively with customers, and manages the SharePoint presence at all the major social computing industry events.
Tanuj Bansal is a Sr Program Manager in the SharePoint product group. Tanuj has been in the software industry for 16 years. Before Microsoft, Tanuj served as a general manager for a private software product and consulting company in Michigan, led several product launches at Autodesk and managed an enterprise services team at PTC. Tanuj holds an MS in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland and an MBA from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
