This interactive workshop helps presenters to develop presentations that engage their audience and turn them into participants. Presentations are collaboration between the presenter and the audience and never has collaboration been more important or the ability to develop and deliver clear, concise and compelling stories been so critical. In this workshop, you’ll be given a set of tools for developing presentations that guide you through the process. You will learn how to build visual aids in a way that help the audience’s ability to process information. You will learn how to frame and craft your story so that it captures minds and imaginations. Using the principles in her book slide:ology, Nancy Duarte combines lecture with interactive exercises that will transform the way presenters express themselves and create stories that resonate.
Since 1988, Nancy Duarte’s firm has created over a quarter of a million presentations. As one of the largest woman-owned businesses in Silicon Valley, her experience working with global companies and thought leaders has influenced the perception of some of the world’s most valuable brands and many of humanity’s common causes: Apple, Cisco, Food Network, Facebook, GE, Google, Al Gore, HP, Nokia, TED, Twitter, and World Bank.
Fascinated by presentations as the most powerful persuasive medium, she determined to crack the code on why some presentations are riveting and others are unbearable, in Fall 2010 she released Resonate-Present Visual Stories that Transform Audiences which identifies hidden story structures inherent in great communication. In 2008 she authored the award-winning book slide:ology-The Art and Science of Creating Great Presentations where over 20 years of experience was distilled into visual communication best practices.

I thought this was a very enlightening workshop presented in a manner that was engaging and held my interest for the full session. I disagree with the previous comment that this session was about Powerpoint. It was technology-neutral and concentrated on framing your presentation to achieve your desired goals. Well done!
I was completely disappointed this presentation was about PowerPoint. Nowhere in the description was it mentioned that the presenter would be talking about making presentations with a software program. The information did not even touch on visual communication and the Web which was what I was expecting and looking forward to. If I had known this was the focus, I would have signed up for a boot camp instead.
