Suzanne Axtell
Communications Manager, O'Reilly Media

I oversee the marketing and public relations efforts for all O’Reilly conferences, based in Sebastopol, California. I’m also on a mission to help bring more diverse speakers and participants to our events.

Previous positions at O’Reilly, which I joined in 2000, include publicist, Intranet editor, and event coordinator. I’ve also toiled happily as a community manager at Borders, in the Letters Department at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and as the associate alumni relations director at NYU’s Stern School of Business.

I’m interested in media, publishing, social networks, marketing, SEO, location awareness, and open source. I’m also an avid crafter, knitter, reader, pet lover, and (thanks to NaNoWriMo) am working on my first chick lit novel.
