Please review the credential requirements below and then fill out the media registration form (login required). Please provide all the requested information and be sure to provide links to recently published work. After you submit the form, you will receive an email message regarding the status of your request, usually within a week. The conference generates enormous media interest, so we appreciate your patience.
To qualify for a complimentary media pass for Web 2.0 Expo, the applicant must cover the industry on a regular basis by writing regular reports or publishing articles on related business or technology issues that are not solicited by an exhibiting company. Private consultants who are paid by an individual company are not eligible for a media pass and should request a pass from the sponsoring company. Also not eligible are financial/financial research analysts, book authors, or contributors to user/community group publications.
An approved media pass allows you entrance to conference keynotes, tutorials, and sessions, and admission to all on-site evening and social events. We will also provide a private working room for the media. If you have special needs, please be sure to indicate your specific requirements at least four weeks before the conference begins.

Reporters from industry trade publications, newspapers, and wire services must provide a sample of an article published within the past six months that clearly displays authorship.
Writers from internationally recognized market research organizations, who consistently write for regularly published newsletters and/or reports, must provide a sample of an industry-related report published within the past six months that clearly displays authorship. Please note that only one analyst per firm may attend.
An online news outlet must contain original news content above and beyond links, forums, troubleshooting tips, and reader contributors, and it must have a readership of over 5,000 per month. Each news outlet must have a paid reporting staff of two or more and must post original, dated, industry-related news at least once per week.
Reporters from internationally recognized magazines, newspapers, or newsletters produced by industry associations must provide an article published within the past six months. Newsletter reporters must have a registered subscriber base of at least 5,000.
Persons requesting freelance credentials must provide an article published within the past six months or a letter of assignment from a qualifying editor or publication. Those who freelance occasionally and are employed by non-news organizations are not eligible for media credentials.
Bloggers must provide links to work that clearly establishes authorship published within the last six months. Bloggers must cover the industry on a regular basis and must have written on the Web 2.0 industry within six months of requesting a media badge. Blogs must contain original, dated, industry-related news content above and beyond links, forums, troubleshooting tips and reader contribution Blogs must show a significant readership of at least 5,000 per month.
If you are approved for a media pass, you are expected to provide links to any conference coverage published before, during, and/or after the event.
We reserve the right to refuse media passes, without cause, during pre-registration as well as on-site media registration.
