Baty is an expert in the design, implementation, and management of information technology. He is renowned for his work as lead architect in designing the technical architectures for many of Sun's customers, including highly available systems for several global telecommunications and financial services companies. His work has repeatedly enhanced Sun's ability to deliver services architecture and enables rapid time-to-market functionality for Sun's customers.

Baty has been responsible for the design of many large-scale customer projects that focus on availability, scalability, and manageability. In his current role, he provides technical leadership for the global architectural and technical delivery teams in Sun's sales organizations.
