Webware is a new term to describe applications that live on the Internet. Familiar webware applications such as Travelocity, Mapquest, and Google are soon to be supplemented by a new generation of applications that offer users significant new do-it-yourself capabilities and power. Paul McNamara, CEO of Coghead and former Red Hat pioneer, will moderate a panel of industry luminaries, including John Seely Brown (senior fellow at the Annenberg Center at USC), Vishal Sikka (senior vice president of SAPs architecture group), Martin Wegenstein (former Autodesk CIO), and Ismael Ghalimi (founder and CEO of Intalio, creator of BPMI.org and initiator of Office 2.0) to lend clarity to the
potential for webware. The panel will debate the democratization of information, the do-it-yourself movement, and the business opportunities that this new era of webware unleashes.
