- 3:00pm
Location: 2018
Mike Culver, evangelist for Amazon Web Services, will provide an overview of Amazon Web Services and demonstrate how developers are able to easily implement a scalable, virtual infrastructure using Amazon Web Services. Culver will showcase web services to power your applications infrastructure: Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), API interfaces that enable storage and computing in the cloud.
In this session, we will also go deep and see how we can scale out applications. Starting from creation of new AWS developer account and learning authentication/authorization to access Amazon EC2, this session will provide more hands-on experience on how to scale your application (web site) across multiple EC2 instances.
This session will help the audience understand the need to build scalable web applications and how to scale it out using Amazon EC2, on-demand compute capacity. It will also cover some of the benefits of Amazon EC2 like zero capacity planning, inexpensive hosting, and web services APIs.
Amazon.com spent ten years and over $1 billion developing a world-class technology and content platform that powers Amazon web sites for millions of customers every day. Today, Amazon Web Services exposes this technology, through 10 open APIs, allowing developers to build applications leveraging the same robust, scalable, and reliable technology that powers Amazons business.
