Session
Rich Internet Applications with Apollo
Mike Chambers, Senior Product Manager for Developer Relations, Adobe
Track: Web 2.0 Services and Platforms
Date: Monday, April 16
Time: 10:10am
- 11:00am
Location: 2022
As web applications become more and more complex, it becomes increasingly difficult to deliver those applications to end users via the browsers. Cross-browser and platform compatibility issues, conflict between application and browser UI, and lack of integration with the user's desktop are all issues that artificially limit the complexity and functionality of browser-based applications. As business needs evolve and customers' expectations grow, so does the demand for richer and more engaging content that can be experienced across platforms and browser types. Increasingly, the creativity of today's web developers is subject to the boundaries of the web browser.
In this session, Chambers will:
- Explain how developers can use their existing web development skills (Flash, HTML, JavaScript) to build and deploy Rich Internet Applications to the desktop
- Show how to use the free SDK to build an Apollo application
- Uncover how to transform a web application into an Apollo desktop application
